Career

Toscano’s stable hit the $2 million mark for the fourth straight year in 2010…Her top horse in 2010  was New York Sire Stakes champion 3-year-old pacing colt He’s Gorgeous, who banked more than $420,000 and captured eight races…She became interested in harness racing through friends while attending Stony Brook State University in New York…She got her start in the business with Buddy Regan at tracks in New York and also worked for John Campbell when he had a stable…Went out on her own in 1984 and was a leading trainer in New York before moving full time to the Meadowlands in 1998…She has gone on to become the most successful female trainer in Meadowlands history and has also campaigned a top stable of stakes winners throughout North America…Enjoyed great success with Giant Mermaid, a 1995 Dan Patch Award winner as the sport’s top trotting mare…Another top horse for Toscano was the free-for-all pacer Jet Laag, who set a world record in 1999 at Delaware and earned more than $1 million in his career…Other top horses have included Breeders Crown champion Molly Can Do It, multiple stakes-winner Kenneth J, and Jugette heat winner Sprig Hanover.
Personal favorite food is, was and will always be pizza…first car was a Mustang hatchback from the 70s, and she wishes she still had it…spends free time hanging out at home with her family and two Golden Retrievers…favorite TV shows are NCIS and Grey’s Anatomy…her greatest racing experience is a tie between winning the Breeders Crown with Molly Can Do It and setting a world time record on the halftrack with Jet Laag in Delaware…enjoys reading mysteries and thrillers…loves to travel during the wintertime to somewhere warm, usually in the Caribbean…is motivated most by the young horses; she thoroughly enjoys watching their evolution from buying them as yearlings to watching watch them race
