Career

Currently splits his time between Northfield Park and The Meadows…For four straight years (2006-‘09) he captured the driving title at Northfield Park… His overall total of  706 victories (a career best) in ’09 ranked him third among all drivers in North America…Was second in all three categories at Northfield in 2010 after missing significant time due to injuries suffered in a June racing accident at The Meadows…Merriman started out in the business with his dad, the noted horseman Lanny Merriman…He was 16 when he first jogged a horse and was nearly 20 when he drove in his first pari-mutuel race…Biggest win in 2010 came behind the 3-year-old filly pacer Sand Windsor in the $109,000 Courageous Lady at Northfield.
Personal

Favorite foods are crab legs and lobster…worked as a Krispy Kreme counter boy, serving donuts and coffee…has two dogs, Parker and Smokey Joe…favorite things to watch are sports and “Rob ‘and Big” on MTV…he is an avid Cleveland sports fan…has a son, Kristopher.
