Career
Elliott’s top performers in 2010 were 2-yer-old filly pacer Cold Mist, who won the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes championship as well as a division of the Bluegrass Stakes, and 2-year-old filly trotter Fitness Girl, who captured the Matron Stakes…In 2009, Elliott’s 3-year-old pacer Well Said joined Precious Bunny as the only horses to win the North America Cup, Meadowlands Pace and Little Brown Jug on his way to Pacer of the Year honors. Well Said also won the Battle of the Brandywine and earned $1.98 million for the year…Elliott reached the pinnacle of the sport in 1988 when three of his trainees, Sweet Reflection, Totally Ruthless and Valley Victory earned divisional titles… Elliott was back in the headlines in 2006-07 with the top colt trotter Donato Hanover…As a 2-year-old, Donato Hanover lost his first start, then ripped off eight straight victories on his way to a landslide triumph in the Dan Patch Awards balloting…In 2007 he won the Hambletonian plus 10 other races in 13 starts, banked $2.33 million and was a landslide choice as Horse of the Year…Other top horses in recent year include 2007 Dan Patch divisional champion filly Southwind Tempo and pacer Artistic Fella…Was honored with the 2007 Glen Garnsey Trainer of the Year Award for the second time in his career, joining 1988, and the W.R. Haughton Good Guy Award from the United States Harness Writers’ Association.

Favorite food is seafood…got his start working for his cousin David Elliott…favorite TV show is “NCIS”…enjoys golfing…has a son, Charles…is motivated by trying to find “that elusive good horse.”
